Spontaneous short break to search for Aurora Borealis

I’ve just booked a week long in Lapland, Finland for February. We will be going north of the Arctic Circle, flying into Ivalo Airport and transfer from their to our first stop. As it’s only a quick escape, I opted for one area in Finland. This is taking out the time that it would take to pack/unpack, transfer between locations, time spend on planes, bus or trains. We found lodging in the Northern Lights Lodge in a comfortable cabin with a glass ceiling over the beds (somewhat like a glass igloo), which will give us the comfort of a full cabin with showers, etc. for the first few days. I still wanted to experience a full glass igloo though, and so we will spend the last two days at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in one of their small igloos, which only have the beds and a small toilet. So for shower and sauna it will be a common area in the resort.
Stay tuned for the trip report and hopefully for the sighting of the Auroras Borealis.
